Vacations | Ireland-2014 | 016 Mural

016 Mural
We flew overnight to Dublin and then were transported to Belfast for our Ireland tour. We started our first day of touring with a talk on the murals of Northern Ireland. Political statements are made by both the Unionist and the Nationalists in the format of murals. During the worst times of the ‘troubles’ there were walls built between the Protestant and Catholic neighborhoods to try to keep some semblance of peace and safety. This is one such wall with one side covered with graffiti.
