We entered the Panama Canal from the Pacific, near Panama City. Did you know that Panama City is the only city in the world where the sunrises over the Pacific and sets over the Atlantic? The canal is built on a little jog that makes the Pacific end to the east of the Atlantic end! This is the Bridge of the Americas, crossing the canal near Panama City, carrying the Pan America highway. The picture is taken from our aft-balcony; you can see a mast with a ship’s light on it. In the distance is another big ship that went through the canal next to us.
