Vacations | Rome Cruise | Forum1.jpg

Tuesday – We started out on a vacation that would take us on a 3-day visit to Rome and a 2-week European/Transatlantic cruise ending in Boston. We were being joined by 2 friends, JoAnn and Mark, in Rome. The trip got off to a rather inauspicious start when the flight that was to take us to Philadelphia was late. Since there was only 55 minutes scheduled for us to connect with our flight to Rome, there was no time to waste. We were put in a cab and, after speeding up Rt. 95 from Baltimore to Philly, made it to the airport about ½ hour before our flight. Amazingly enough, we and our luggage both made it onto the flight to Rome. When we reached the gate, the flight was already boarding, so we walked right on and settled in for the long trip. Wednesday – We reached Rome shortly after 8AM. JoAnn and Mark, coming from Detroit, were about 10 minutes behind us and we met up in the baggage claim area. After a quick trip we were ready to check-in at the hotel and have a short nap before enjoying a little touring. We started out at the Forum.
