Then it was on to Ankara, the capitol. After a stop for lunch in the busy city center, we headed to the Museum of Anatolian Civilization where we could see artifacts from all over Turkey and all over time. This museum really shows how all the different civilizations that have marched across Turkey have influenced each other and built upon what came before. The following morning began with a visit to the Mausoleum of Ataturk and an introduction to the principles that built today’s republic.
